Dale E. Van Cor is born and raised in Winchester. He is an inventor working on a better reformed system for nuts and bolts. His goal revolves around a fastener that is the powerhouse of all bolts or nuts. These fasteners will be more dependable than the average bolt or nut making them a better choice. Dale has also shared his invention with a teammate from Massachusetts named Harrison Frye who is a mechanical engineer. Harrison has been using a 3D printer to create a trial run of Dale’s design. Amazingly, when Harrison examined a wave threaded-cap-and tube connection on August 18th, it was withholding 20 pounds of water current for up to one hour. Dale mentioned that as of now only one out of ten trials have worked at full capacity.
This is a whole new design that is not like anything else ever made for physical connections so they are of knowledge that there will need to be patience. There is a goal to make O-rings and gaskets secured to perfection. They have mentioned that the spaceship Challenger failed due to O-ring complications, so the goal is to make them last for eternity. Some great leverage about this design is that there is complete contact between the superficial layers which is beneficial for the production of forwarding vibrations rather than holding them captive. Harrison and Dale believe that this product will be best used for aviation purposes due to the weight management that it can support. Van Cor greatly stresses the greatness of 3D printers and how they are useful in large amounts of production. He believes in the near future most will own their own 3D printer to assist with repairs around the house. Overall, this upcoming year will hopefully have a better technology in fasteners created by Harrison Van Cor.
